The old man in the shebeen.

I photographed this old man in a shebeen at the Wildcoast 5 years ago. He was the only customer in the shebeen up to when we walked in. You could see that he felt very privileged to be photographed when I asked him. Almost like the first people many years ago when cameras were still a novelty, and there weren’t mobile phones around yet. We were camping at a place that didn’t really cater for camping. But the scenery was breathtaking, The people VERY friendly and we were very far from any towns. This shebeen only had quarts and only Black Label. I wonder if he is still around.
