Hitching a Ride.

A memorable 5 day breakaway to beautiful Lesotho resulted in a lot of photos. It was winter and icy cold. Minus degree Celsius temperatures.
Sherry in the evening temperatures!
On our way to Katse dam we took a “shortcut” 110km of gravel road. And saw the most beautiful sceneries. We ended up travelling for 7 hours. Of which 4 hours was actual driving and 3 hours taking photos.
We met this local next to the road with his dog hitching a ride with him. He couldn’t speak English, but didn’t mind me taking his picture. He posed for quite a few. I liked this one the best.
All the locals in Lesotho wear this blankets wrapped around them in the winter to protect them from the very cold temperatures.
The people in Lesotho haven’t got much. They are generally very poor. But they are very happy people and friendly with visitors. It was really a reality check for me. Sometimes we are unhappy about everything, even though we have a lot to be thankful for.
